Theme: THE PENNY REWARD
Text: “And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.” – John 6:65.
Comment: Another issue highlighted in the Parable of the Penny Reward, is the matter of grace. As expressed in the leading text, no one can of his own accord come into the kingdom of God (God’s Holy Organisation) except he is called. It is therefore, the Father’s good pleasure to invite all people of goodwill, the meek who want to serve and worship Him, into His service. (John 6:44) It is a matter of grace, for one to be called into the Church of God. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29) This grace, must not be toyed with or abused. St. Paul warns: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.” – 2 Corinthians 6:1. See also Romans 6:1, 2.
