Theme: OBJECT LELSSONS FROM THE LIFE AND EPISTLES OF ST. PAUL

Text: “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith. Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity…” – Romans 12:6,8.

Comment: In God’s Organization, “there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit… And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.” (1Corinthians 12:4-6) This understanding should imbue in every believer, a sense of modesty, contentment, humility, as against inordinate ambition, pride, and unhealthy rivalry. Sharing his personal experience, Paul the Apostle reveals, “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power”. (1Corinthians 2:1,4)May God help us therefore to avoid vainglory, so that, whatever we do, great or small with faith, will be to His glory. See 1Corinthians 10:31.
