Theme: Prudence
Text: “Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? Prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.” -Hosea 14:9
Comment: A man who applies spiritual wisdom and understanding in his dealings with people can be said to be prudent. Furthermore, the prophet acknowledged the fact that God Almighty is just (Deuteronomy 32:4) and added that it is the man who is wise and prudent that will understand God and his purpose towards mankind. Wisdom comes through having knowledge. Some may have knowledge and fail to apply it in their relationship with God and fellow men. To deploy knowledge in making sound decisions is wisdom. And this comes through “hearing of the word of God”. – Romans 10:17; James 3:17.
