Theme: Some Noble Christians of the Bible
Text: “When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, woman, behold thy son!” – John 19:26.
Comment: The Holy Bible clearly shows that Mary the mother of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was also a disciple and a woman of faith and devotion to the teachings of Jesus Christ. She became closely associated with the other faithful worshippers of Christ after his ascension. When the disciples returned from Mount Olivet back to Jerusalem after the ascension of Christ they abode in an upper room awaiting the out pouring of the Holy Sprit on the Apostles. During this period Matthias was chosen to replace Judas Iscariot who fell from apostleship. Among them was Mary the mother of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:12) wh would be saved in God’s Kingdom here on earth as one of the meek. – Matthew 5:5
