Theme: OBEDIENCE OF THE RECHABITES
Text: “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” – Philippians 2:8.
Comment: One remarkable quality which our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, exhibited was obedience to the will of the Almighty God. In spite of the tribulations, persecutions and humiliation he was subjected to in the course of his mission on this earthly plane, he never gave up or turned round to speak against God. Concerning him, Apostle Paul declared: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;” (Hebrews 5:8) Christ himself said: “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” (John 6:38, 12:49, 50) By reason of Christ’s obedience, there is the abundance of grace, gift of righteousness and eternal life for his children. – Romans 5:19.
