Theme: BUILDING UP YOURSELVES ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH

Text: “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 1:10, 11.

Comment: This is Apostle Peter’s summation of some virtues or godly qualities that a true worshipper needs to develop his faith in God and in His son, Jesus Christ. To faith, should be added virtue (good qualities, benefit, behaviour); knowledge of the Almighty is also required for the individual’s growth. (Proverbs 3:13-18) Other virtues that inspire building one into his most holy faith include temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, charity, etc. Dissociating oneself from false religious bodies, whose teachings, beliefs and practices are inconsistent with the revealed word, the truth, makes one to be at peace with God. Apostle Paul declared: “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”. – Ephesians 4:22-24; 2 Corinthians 5:17.
