Theme: RECEIVING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LITTLE CHILD
Text: “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” – 1 Peter 1:14-16.
Comment: Before our heavenly Father, we are all children, because from Him we got life and in the words of Apostle Paul, “in him we live, and move, and have our being”. (Acts 17:28; Job 12:10). Being a Father, He is worthy of our worship, for to Him it appertains. (Malachi 1:6; Jeremiah 10:7) Having “received the knowledge of the truth” and “tasted the good word of God,” and have thus attained spiritual enlightenment, He expects that we animate His statutes by allowing them reflect in our thoughts, utterances and actions, this is the understanding behind the concept of being “new creatures”. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:22) May God continue to help us to live up to the expectations of His truth and righteousness as we aspire towards holiness by His grace.
