Theme: THE BLESSING IN DOING WHAT WE HEAR
Text: “My son, keep thy father’s commandment, And forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, And tie them about thy neck.” – Proverbs 6:20, 21.
Comment: Those who keep to the instructions of our Father (God Almighty) and our mother (God’s Holy Organisation) will surely be blessed. (Isaiah 64:8; Galatians 4:26) Joseph in Egypt kept to the commandments of God and it brought manifold blessings to him. He told Potiphar’s wife: “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Genesis 39:7-9) Apostle Paul attested to God’s blessings and long life on children who obey their parents in the Lord. (Ephesians 6:1-3) The need to always reflect on the word and endeavour to do them cannot be over-emphasised. – 1 Corinthians 15:1, 2.
