Theme: BUILDING UP YOURSELVES ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH
Text: “And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” – Genesis 15:5, 6.
Comment: In this narrative, the Almighty Father demonstrated His awesome powers in a vision to Abraham assuring him that his desire for an heir would be accomplished with time. God Almighty told him to come out of the house and look up to number the stars of heaven, if he could, his inability to do so was followed with an oath: “So shall thy seed be”. This spiritually-captivating encounter was a jolt to Abraham as he continued to trust in the unassailable words of God. (Hebrews 6:13-18) Concerning Abraham, St. Paul added: “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” (Romans 4:19-22) Let us learn from the example of Abraham and exercise absolute faith in God so as to be blessed like faithful Abraham. – Romans 4:23-25.
