Theme: GIVE DILIGENCE TO MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE
Text: “And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments”. – Deuteronomy 26:18.
Comment: The unique designation of God’s people as being peculiar and other superlative adjectives imposes a unique requirement and obligation to abide by God’s commandments in order to enjoy His favour and salvation at the end. It is a matter of grace to be called and chosen by the Almighty God to be His peculiar people. (Deuteronomy 7:6-8; 1 Corinthians 1:26-29) This unmerited favour from God Almighty should be appreciated by diligent worship of God. St. Paul exhorts: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.” – 2 Corinthians 6:1; Titus 2:11-14.
