Theme: DANIEL AND THE THREE FAITHFUL JEWS

Text: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16.

Comment: Prayer is a solemn request or petition made to God through Jesus Christ. The story of Daniel and the three faithful Jews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, reinforces the efficacy of prayer and the power of the Almighty to save. According to the Scriptures, Daniel always prayed three times a day.(Daniel 6:10)Though the decree passed by king Darius forbade anyone from praying to any God or man for thirty days save to the king, Daniel, a righteous man was undeterred in his commitment to seeking the face of God daily. No wonder he enjoyed grace and miraculous deliverance from the Lion’s den (Daniel 6:21,22)Of a truth, God does answer the prayers of the just as aptly captured in today’s text. It behoves us, as beloved children of God, to practice His righteousness and pray constantly as we navigate this evil world in which we live, while looking to the full establishment of the everlasting Kingdom by His grace.– Psalm 55:16,17,22; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Daniel 6:27.
