Theme: RECEIVING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LITTLE CHILD

Text: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” – Luke 11:13.

Comment: Children are reliant on their parents/caregivers, always contented, trusting and dependent on promises made to them, even when these persons may not have the wherewithal to acquire such item or luxury promised them. On our part, we serve a God Who owns the earth, “and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1) For this reason, the Psalmist wrote, “Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.” (Psalm 123:2) Having acknowledged he was but a “little child” young King Solomon prayed for understanding. In return, God Almighty granted his request, and added to him, material blessings as well. – 1 Kings 3:7-13.
