Theme: BUILDING UP YOURSELVES ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH
Text: “And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house. Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.” – 2 Kings 22:5, 7
Comment: In the eighth year of the reign of Josiah, the king of Israel, he appointed two of his aides to meet Hilkiah the priest to render the collections dedicated for the mending of the breaches of the house of the LORD so that the doers of the work would carry out the oversight thereof. As the concluding part of the leading text states, those who had custody of the LORD’S money did well in that “there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully” (2 Kings 22:7) Apostle Paul said: “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:2) In all our endeavours and relationships with one another, whether at home, school, office or anywhere one finds oneself, faithfulness is obligatory.
