Theme: IS IT VAIN TO SERVE GOD?

Text: “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Comment: No one with a vivid understanding of the contents of the Holy Bible will blame the Almighty God or charge Him as the cause of our temptations. This is the motive of the devil; the tempter. (Job 34:10-12; 37:24, 24; Lamentations 3:33; Matthew 4:3) Through his wife, Satan suggested to Job that God Almighty could do nothing concerning his travails, therefore his righteousness amounted to nothing but vanity. However, Job did not fall for this deceit (2 Corinthians 2:11; Job 1:22; 2:10) No matter the magnitude of the tempest Satan brings our way, those who give themselves to the service of God sincerely and steadfastly will never be confounded.  King David gave the consolation: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” – Psalm 34:19; 2 Peter 2:9.
