Theme: MUSIC IN GOD'S SERVICE
Text: “Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.” – James 5:13.
Comment: Music does occupy an important place in the life of true worshippers of God. It provides a joyful atmosphere during religious devotions and worship as it enlivens and uplifts the soul and heart of worshippers. It was at the sound of a stringed instrument that Elisha found divine inspiration. (2 Kings 3:15) Music revives and heals the mind of those who are depressed and sick as it gives inspiration to forge ahead against challenges and encourages God’s servants for their exploits of faith. Spiritually-meaningful songs are used to praise and adore God’s Holy name and express gratitude to Him for His wonderful works and victories in life. So, it is rewarding to cultivate the habit of singing in every situation. – Psalm 100:1-5.
