Text: “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” – John 9:31.
Comment: As stated in the leading text, those who worship God are expected to do His will so that their prayers would be answered by God. It is an infallible fact that a sincere worshipper of God who fears, loves and adores the heavenly Father does His will – obeys His commandments and testimonies. The prayer of the wicked who turns away his ears from hearing God’s laws is abominable to Him. (Proverbs 28:9; Isaiah 1:15; Jeremiah 14:11,12) We should not be seen to present ourselves as righteous and every other person as a sinner like the Pharisees did. Jesus Christ gave an illustration of a Pharisee who justified himself and a publican who was truly sorry for his errors. (Luke 18:10-14) God Almighty hears sinners only if they confess and repent of their sins. – Isaiah 1:16-20; Ezekiel 18:20-23.
