Text: “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” – Philippians 2:12.
Comment: The Holy Bible makes it abundantly clear that the race of salvation is an individual affair. It is foolhardy for any youth to think that because the parents do God’s will and practise His righteousness it automatically rubs off on the children. Scriptures say: “Though Noah, Daniel and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.” (Ezekiel 14: 14, 16, 18, 20; 18:20) In today’s text, Apostle Paul enjoins us all – men, women, boys and girls – to strive to practise God’s righteousness for our own blessings and eventual salvation. – Philippians 2:12-15.
