Theme: IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD
Text: “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.” – Psalm 5:3.
Comment: From an early age, children of God are taught that the first thing to be done in the morning is to say their prayers. It is the realisation that our sustenance is from our heavenly Father. (Psalm 3:5; 4:8; 68:19, 20) It is most condemnable for one to be negligent of this duty we owe the Most High God, simply because one is busy. Sleeping therefore, is said to be “a natural phenomenon, but waking up is a miracle”. Additionally, surviving one day on to another, is itself a struggle, coupled with the hazards of everyday living, Christians are thus exhorted to “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Luke 18:1) The point is, a show of appreciation to the Almighty God, for keeping us to see the dawn of day, is man’s spiritual response to the goodness of God.
