Text: “Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” – Psalm 73:25, 26.
Comment: True to the words of Christ, unfolding events of the age continue to authenticate Bible prophecies. “Men’s heart failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth…” (Luke 21:25, 26) The statement in today’s leading text is an expression of our insufficiency and total dependence on an Infallible and All-Sufficient Maker of the ends of the earth. (Isaiah 45:22, 24) No matter the level of our attainment in life, the realisation that “our sufficiency is of God” should make us cleave to Him and His only begotten Son at all times. This humble declaration in the leading text should not be restricted to troubled times, but in all circumstances by God’s grace.
