Theme: THE ANTITYPICAL ARK OF NOAH
Text: “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” – Hebrews 11:7.
Comment: One of the sterling qualities demonstrated by Noah for which we should emulate is faith. It is an indispensable virtue which all worshippers of God should cultivate as without it, we cannot please God. (Hebrews 11:6) Though rain had not started falling on the earth, but when God told Noah that He would destroy the world with water, he did not doubt the Almighty God. Hence, Noah proceeded to warn the people of the impeding catastrophe and to build the ark. Those who obey the call of God are to exercise implicit faith in His word and keep His commandments at all times. “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” – Hebrews 4:1, 2. See also Hebrews 12:28.
