Theme: NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD

Text: “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.” – John 20:25.

Comment:  The text for today contains the statement of Thomas Didymus, one of the apostles of Christ who found it hard to believe that Jesus had risen even though there had been a number of such reports by credible witnesses to warrant belief. When Jesus Christ appeared to the disciples, he made physical contacts with them and ate with them. – Matthew 28:9; Luke 24:39, 42,43.

However, eight days after his resurrection, he appeared to them in a room and told Thomas, “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.” It was then Thomas answered and said unto him, “My Lord and my God”.  Jesus then admonished him thus, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” – John 20:26-29.

There are many people today who behave like Thomas.  They want to see signs and wonders first before they believe in the power of God. Therefore we should not doubt like Thomas.  Apostle James enjoins us to ask “in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord”. – James 1:5-7.
