Theme: RECEIVING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LITTLE CHILD
Text: “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.” – Hebrew 5:12.
Comment: In most spheres of learning, there are different levels of imparting knowledge, such that, the more advanced aspects are given to those who have become mature in understanding, while the elementary aspects are given to beginners. (1 Peter 2:2) To the believers at Corinth, Paul, an apostle of Christ, further drove home the point by stating, “Brethren, be not children in understandihowbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.” (1 Corinthians 14:20) Thus, our Lord’s admonition as to receiving the Kingdom of God as a little child, is to the end that, virtues of affection, humility, forgiveness, open-mindedness, liberality, and such like, as found in children, should be imbibed by all. Then, as we make progress by the grace of God, we should develop on spiritual understanding to be able to understand the signs of the times. – Hebrews 5:12-14.
