Theme: THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES AND YOU

Text: “And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.” – Isaiah 25:6.

Comment: The Feast of Tabernacles celebration is an occasion to actually feast on God’s edifying words, hence the preaching of the word of God stands out as a major ordinance of the Feast. (Deuteronomy 31:10-13) It is part of God’s fulfilment of His divine promise contained in the prophecy by Isaiah the prophet which forms the text for today. The Bible states: “Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.” (Nehemiah 8:14-18) Therefore, we are expected to pay heed to the admonition of King Solomon which says: “Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.” – Ecclesiastes 5:1.
