Theme: THE VOICE OF CONSCIENCE

Comment: JEHOVAH the Maker of heaven and earth abhors lies. Instead, He wants all His children to dwell in the truth which gives life. (Proverbs 6:16-19) One of the functions of man’s conscience when he listens to it, is to guide him to always abide in the truth in order to be on the LORD’s side of favour, enjoy His blessings, and be saved in the end. Scripture shows clearly that lying originated from the devil. He it was who told Eve the first ever lie in the Garden of Eden that, “Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4), contrary to the truth that God had told Adam, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die.” – (Genesis 2:17) Those who give themselves to lies and unmindful of this trait of the devil risk falling into his web of deceit by which he has corrupted the word of God to lead multitude to destruction. – John 8:44; Zachariah 8:16, 17; Ephesians 4:25.
