Theme: WHERE CAN PEACE AND SAFETY BE FOUND?
Text: “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” – Psalms 4:8.
Comment: That we lie down and wake up peacefully and healthy is the Lord’s doing. (Psalms 3:5) It is commonly said that sleeping is a natural phenomenon but waking up is a miracle. Thus, one of the miracles we enjoy daily without knowing, is that of waking up. (Psalms 68:19) God has allowed us to see the dawn of the day, not because we are better than those who are dead but because of his mercy and grace. “Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun”. (Ecclesiastes 11:7. See also Exodus 33:19, Lamentations 3:22, 23) Left for the Wicked One – the Devil, he would exterminate the human race. But God Almighty, Who does not sleep nor slumber will continue to keep us safe by His grace and power. – Psalms 121:1-8. see also Isaiah 40:28.
