Theme: THE WILL OF GOD
Text: “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” – Romans 10:1-3.
Comment: It is because many people who claim to be worshipping God today do not really understand His will, that they have set at naught His commandments and trampled upon the principles of true Christianity. Many people in this age are like the natural Jews who were enthusiastic in the service of God but for the fact that they did not know His will in truth and faith, they practised their own righteousness instead of that of God. Personal or self-righteousness was the character of the Scribes and Pharisees who were notorious for their hypocrisy. (Matthew 15:7-9; 23:1, 2; Luke 12:1) Let us practice God’s righteousness as that is His will for us to be blessed and saved by His grace.
