Theme: Guiding Against Despair
Text: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusted in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.” – Isaiah 26:3-4.
Comment: When we put our trust in God Almighty, it brings peace of mind, hope and confidence. It also drives away despair, fear and other forms of negativity. We should therefore build our trust in God and not in man or riches. (Psalm 118:8,9) God said through the Psalmist: “Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.”(Psalm 62:10) Also St. Paul’s admonition in 1 Timothy 6: 17 is worthy of note: “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy”’.
