Theme: THE SAVING AND HEALING POWER OF GOD ALMIGHTY

Text: “My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.  – Psalms 31:15.

Comment: When David the prophet says “my times are thine hands” he means that it is God Almighty Who controls his life, knows what the future holds for him.  He knows how to sustain him in His service, He knows what evils are before him, He decides whether to allow them happen to him or to prevent them. Since the greatest enemy of man is the devil, and man is powerless against him, it is only by the power of God that man will survive the onslaught of the devil and be saved in God’s Kingdom fully established. When St. Peter requested to emulate the Lord Jesus Christ to walk on water, he actually performed the feat by the power of God while his faith was strong. “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” – Matthew 14:30, 31.

Thus, it is God Almighty we should trust at all times. “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:5-8.
