Theme: GIVE DILIGENCE TO MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE
Text: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” – Proverbs 22:29.
Comment: The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “diligence” as “steady, earnest, and energetic effort; devoted and painstaking work and application to accomplish an undertaking.” One of the pointers to diligence in the Lord’s service is the faithful use of our God-given talent, endowment or material possessions to support the kingdom work. The Holy Bible shows that God Almighty, who owns the earth and its fullness including all mankind and their possessions, has given such to His faithful worshippers. (Psalm 24:1; 84:11, 12; Deuteronomy 8:17, 18; 1 Corinthians 4:7) Those who diligently use what God has blessed them with to honour and serve Him shall be blessed abundantly in this present life and in the world to come by God’s grace. – Proverbs 3:9, 10; 22:4.
