Theme: The World to Come

Text: “And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.” – Isaiah 33:24.

Comment: The relief that comes to mind knowing that there will be no sickness in the kingdom of God is truly satisfying. This is one of the blessings that the people of God are earnestly looking forward to, considering the ravaging effect of sicknesses in the present system of things. The devastating effect of sicknesses on man is presently unprecedented. The US WebMD estimates that at least 96 percent of the world’s population is living with one form of a health problem or the other. All these, according to Jesus Christ, will bring pain and sorrow to mankind. (Matthew 24:8) Interestingly though, God Almighty through Isaiah is assuring His people of a sickness-free world that they will someday enjoy in His Kingdom fully established. “Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.” – Jeremiah 33:6.
