Theme: BUILDING UP YOURSELVES ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH
Text: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” – Jude verses 20, 21.
Comment: This is an important exhortation from Jude the apostle of Christ that true worshippers of God should develop themselves bountifully in the true way. The Lord’s Holy Organisation, wherein is everlasting life, is the “most holy faith”. It is the highway spoken of by Isaiah the prophet of God. (Isaiah 35:8) Anyone that is favoured by the Almighty God to be called from darkness to light, comes in as a babe who needs to be nurtured spiritually. (Hebrews 5:12-14) He or she would have to make diligent and prayerful acquisition of the word of righteousness, the truth, which in Scriptural symbolism is termed honey for its sweetness; milk because it nourishes one; water due to its cleansing effect; wine for it gladdens the heart; bread or meat because it is a spiritual food that strengthens one. (Isaiah 55:1-3; Matthew 6:11; John 6:27; Job 23:12) The individual’s spiritual development is seen in his stability in the faith till the end. – Hebrews 3:14.
