Theme: OBJECT LELSSONS FROM THE LIFE AND EPISTLES OF ST. PAUL

Text: “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” – Romans 5:10.

Comment: One of the missions of Jesus Christ during his first advent was “To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” (Isaiah 42:7) Describing his activities before his conversion, St. Paul wrote: “Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious…This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” (1Timothy 1:13,15) God Almighty had long given the invitation: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” (Isaiah 1:18,19) Having obtained this grace that brings salvation, in the words of St. Paul, it behooves us to deny “ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” – Titus 2:11,12.
