Theme: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PASSOVER

Text: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” – Deuteronomy 6:4,5.

Comment: The worship of God is entire, absolute, and wholesome, giving no place for fence-sitting or mixed worship, as “No man can serve two masters”. (Matthew 6:24; 1Corinthians 10:21) The children of Israel were bound to eat the lamb completely, that nothing should remain until the following day. (Exodus 12:10) This typifies the total dedication a worshipper puts in, in the course of running the race of salvation. (Mark 12:29,30) We are not called to re-invent the wheels, but to submit our will to the supreme and unquestionable dictate of the Almighty Father. Also, in the antitype, fulfilling all righteousness of God, is the very essence of eating the lamb completely or wholly, as anything contrary to this directive, amounts to self-will or presumptuousness. – Psalm 19:13; James 2:10,11; Matthew 23:23.
