Theme: GOOD HEART CONDITION IN GOD'S SERVICE
Text: “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.” – 1 Chronicles 28:9.
Comment: The importance of a good heart condition in the service of God was clearly expressed by King David in his final admonition to his son, Solomon as seen in the text for today. It is based on our heart condition that God will either accept or reject our services. There is need to jealously guide our hearts so as not to allow defilement to set in because it emanates from the heart. “And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”(Mark 7:15-23) Let us therefore keep our hearts with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. – Proverbs 4:23.
