Theme: ANXIETY

Text: “The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” – Psalm 34:17-19.

Comment: One of the issues tearing families apart today, is childlessness. In most cases, women are psychologically traumatized,  and, as a result, faithlessness and other vices creep in. There is no age limit to God’s blessings:  for instance God blessed Abraham and Sarah with a child in their old age. The Bible Says “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” – Psalm 127:3

We should always have in mind that the Almighty God is the Giver of all good and perfect gifts. He will definitely visit us in his appointed time. We should remember the case of the Priest Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth. Even when Zechariah doubted the words of the Angel, in God’s due time, Elizabeth gave birth to John who was later known as John the Baptist. The Bible records; “Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.” (Luke 1:57) In verse 37, of Dr. Luke’s account of his first chapter, we are told “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

We should continue to look to God for the fruit of the womb as it is only God that can give it. We should also abstain from all unrighteousness and copy the exemplary life of the Priest Zechariah and his wife, whom the Bible says; “And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” – Luke 1:6.
