Theme: RECEIVING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LITTLE CHILD
Text: “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” – Hebrews 12:6.
Comment: God Almighty disciplines all whom He has given the grace to come to the knowledge of the truth (John 1:17, 1 Timothy 2:3,4) so that they may be fruitful in serving Him. Chastening is a demonstration of love, as a father would do to a son he loves. The Preacher, Solomon, states, “He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.” (Proverbs 13:24). Therefore, all who are chastened, and they allow themselves to accept any measure of discipline meted out to them, “…afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” – Hebrews 12:11.
