Theme: YOUTHS IN GOD'S ORGANISATION

Text: “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them”. – Ecclesiastes 12:1.

Comment: It is necessary that one does the Lord’s work while one is still full of youthful strength and vigour. “It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.” (Lamentation 3:27; Proverbs 20:29; John 21:18) There are several examples in the Holy Bible for us to emulate those who, from their youth, gave themselves to the works of righteousness. Writing to his spiritual son, Timothy, Apostle Paul said: “…And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:14, 15. See also 1 Samuel 3:19-21; Jeremiah 1:4-10) Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, went about his Father’s work right from a youthful age. (Luke 2:46-49) Let us therefore become good examples in the service of God, as St. Paul stated in 1 Timothy 4:12.
