Theme: YOUTHS IN GOD'S ORGANISATION
Text: “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.” – Proverbs 13:11.
Comment: So many youths of today are enticed by get-rich-quick schemes, with the promise of having stupendous wealth with minimal effort or labour. Hence, they readily fall victim to fraudsters and online scams. Yet others are consumed with sports betting. The text for today makes it clear that any wealth gotten by evil means will not last. “Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.” (Proverbs 15:16, 27) The importance of honest labour cannot be overstated. We should strive to build wealth through honest, painstaking labour in the fear of God. – Proverbs 22:4; Ecclesiastes 5:12; Proverbs 22:29.
