Theme: RECEIVING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LITTLE CHILD
Text: “Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.” – Proverbs 4:1-3.
Comment: Good doctrines come from God. (Deuteronomy 32:2; John 7:16) The prophet Moses says of Him, “… a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” (Deuteronomy 32:4) The essence of doctrines is for children of God to have firm footing in the faith, no wonder, doctrines are referred to as the basis of Christian belief. When children are bequeathed with the right values, no doubt, they become an asset and pride to their families, God helping them. (Proverbs 10:1) Though we are all called into God’s organisation at different times to run the race of eternal life, one thing is common to all converts, they are expected to go through progressive mentoring on God’s word from babes to spiritually mature persons in order to independently defend the truth, practise God’s righteousness and gain eternal life at the end by God’s grace. – 1 Timothy 4:16.
