Theme: CASTING ALL YOUR BURDENS ON CHRIST

Text: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6, 7.

Comment: One who desires God’s help must be humble, God-fearing and content with one’s lot in life. However, such ones can aspire to great things but should not be covetous. (Exodus 18:21; Luke 12:15; Hebrews 13:5, 6) King Solomon, young and vibrant successor of David – the great king of Israel – humbled himself and asked God for wisdom to make his kingship successful. He cast his burden on God and he was blessed with riches, honour, and length of days. (1 Kings 3:12-14) There are abundance of blessings for those who rest all their worries on God. They shall never be disappointed or confounded. Apostle Paul told the Hebrew Christians, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” – Hebrews 13:5, 6; Psalm 37:4, 5; 34:11-14; etc.
