Theme: THE VOICE OF CONSCIENCE
Text: “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.” – Titus 1:15.
Comment: A defiled conscience is that which is corrupt, deceived and evil. In other words, a person with a defiled conscience indulges in acts that are wicked and sinful. “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” (Titus 1:16; Mark 7:20-23) While godly persons listen to the dictate of their consciences, vile people’s consciences are defiled, and they take pleasure in doing evil. However, the patience of God on the wicked will not be forever. Scriptures say: “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him. But is shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he feareth not before God.” – Ecclesiastes 8:11-13.
