Theme: GOOD HEART CONDITION IN GOD'S SERVICE

Text: “Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.” – 2 Chronicles 25:1, 2.

Comment: Amaziah was seen to be actively involved in carrying out activities in the work of God, but the heart with which he did those activities was not right in the sight of God. This emphasizes the fact that whatever activity we do in the work of God, we should do it from the bottom of our heart as service to God. This understanding was given by St. Paul when he said: “Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.” – Ephesians 6:6-8.
