Devotional Guide, Today’s Reading Saturday April 15, 2023

Theme: Be Careful for Nothing

Text: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their ownselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…” – 2 Timothy 3:1, 2.

Comment: We have seen that though many could read and write today, not many of them know God. They are selfish, greedy, callous, and therefore dangerous to one another.  They are ready tools in the hands of the devil.  This is because of the pride in the hearts of many in this age who believe man is now an intellectual giant, capable of solving his problems and so does not need God and His word to guide him. No matter the challenges we undergo in this present life, no Christian should display any of the ungodly characters mentioned by St. Paul in the text under reference but we should continue to exercise implicit faith in God, practice His righteousness and keep ourselves unspotted from the world. – James 1:27; Romans 12:2.
