Theme: Some Noble Christians of the Bible

Text: “And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils.” – Luke 8:2.

Comment: Mary Magdalene’s connection with Jesus Christ was a unique one. She was a Jewess from Magdala, a fishing territory on the Western shore of the Sea of Galilee. She had suffered from severe emotional or psychological trauma due to Afflictions by demons. For the fact that Jesus cast out the evil spirits from her, she decided to give herself to God and His work. Her ministering to Christ is a reflection of her gratitude. She demonstrated faith and hope concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (John 20:15-20) She sought first the kingdom of God. Like Mary Magdalene, we should seek God and His kingdom. – Matthew 6:33; 11: 28-30; Isaiah 55:6,7.
