Text: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” – John 13:34, 35.
Comment: This commandment of Jesus Christ is one of the central ethical principles in Christian theology and has profound implications on how Christians should live and relate with one another. To be a Christian, is not just by mere lips, but by actions and deeds. “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18) The Holy Bible says: “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him” (1 John 2:9-11) Jesus Christ taught us to love our neighbours as ourselves. – Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31.
