Text: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:12, 13.
Comment: While doing the work of God, the initial zeal and zest for the service of God may be eroded by the various unpleasant things we may experience at the instance of the devil. Christ here is saying that it will make many lose interest in God’s work entirely. Hence, he is warning us. The reward for service to God which is salvation is not given for half service. It requires steadfastness even in the midst of temptations, and things we see will test our patience and practical expression of the word of God in us. Apostle Paul says: “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” – Hebrews 10:35, 36; 3:14.
