Theme: CASTING ALL YOUR BURDENS ON CHRIST
Text: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6, 7.
Comment: Despondency or anxiety is a threat to our peace and spiritual well-being as it is destructive to the soul. (Proverbs 17:22; Matthew 6:27) Christ offers to the world, peace as it is written: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27) Further to Apostle Paul’s admonition in the text for today, he recommends, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) The Psalmist advised: “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” – Psalm 55:22; 42:5, 11; Proverbs 16: 3.
