Text: “And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.” – Deuteronomy 6:24, 25
Comment: It is of great reward to have the knowledge of God to know the things He wants us to do and those to eschew. (Psalm 19:7-11; James 1:21-25) Those who want life everlasting are to pray as David the Prophet did: “Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. Give me understanding and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.” – Psalm 119:33-36, 80.
