Theme: THE ANTITYPICAL ARK OF NOAH
Text: “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” – Genesis 18:19.
Comment: The leading text for today highlights the commendation from an angel about Abraham, who commanded his entire household to serve and worship the Almighty God. Noah’s family showed strong faith in God Almighty, in that they believed the prophecy God gave to Noah that He would destroy the world. As a result of that faith, they supported him in the work of dispensing the truth, building the ark and they were saved by God. This shows conclusively that Noah effectively displayed his headship of his household to the glory of God. (1 Timothy 3:5) Christian families are, therefore, admonished to follow the examples of both Abraham and Noah in ruling their houses while the entire household should keep and follow God’s laws for their own blessings and salvation by His grace. – Joshua 24:15; Deuteronomy 4:9, 10; 6:7; Proverbs 22:6; Colossians 3:18; Ephesians 6:1-4.
