Text: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” – Romans 5:19.
Comment: The origin of sin is traceable to the cradle of life at the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve, at the instance of the devil, disobeyed the law of God. For glory, splendour and serenity, the garden was beyond compare. The simple instruction was to the effect that he should not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil with the concomitant effect as death (Genesis 2:16,17; 3:1-6). Adam’s defence that his wife gave him to eat could hold no water. And so, the sentence of death was passed on man when God Almighty declared that he would labour before he would eat until he dies and returns to the ground. (Genesis 3:16-19) If only men would always be mindful of the fact that they are exposed to death as a result of Adam’s disobedience, they will have cause to fear God by keeping His commandments. – Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14.
